When I moved from two-dimensional art into working sculpturally, my challenge was to free the creations from gravity and make my art viewable from all sides. I began making the suspensions beginning in 2013. I then began to search for methods and materials to make the work more translucent. I created a new art material I called encaustigraphics that is as richly colorful as stained glass, but much lighter in weight.
